I felt compelled to paint this scene as my Covid-19 landscape in its literal and metaphorical meaning. All of our lives have been impacted by the pandemic. A world turned upside down, filled with stress and anxiety. At the same time, spring began and nature burst back into life. The landscape is the reflection on the surface of a pond, so its, and isn’t upside down: but it’s the new reality. A bit abstract, a bit surreal. There’s no horizon line, just like there’s no clear view of what’s ahead of us.
